Cybersecurity Onramp for Immigrants and Refugee-Serving Organizations in Canada
Lowase Management Consulting was a Steering Committee Member on Cybersecurity Onramp for Immigrants and Refugee Serving Organizations at the Canadian Centre for Nonprofit Digital Resilience (CCNDR) with funding of Mastercard Changeworks, from April to December 2023. The CCNDR was founded by the CIO Strategy Council with backing from advisors and supporters, for a digitally-enabled nonprofit sector, where Canada’s diverse nonprofits use data and tech to advance their mission and multiply their impact. Wonders Pibowei and Chimene Emejuru represented Lowase, on the 2023 CCNDR Steering Committee on Cybersecurity Onramp for Immigrants and Refugees-Serving Organizations in Canada. The project promoted: 1) understanding of cyber risks and obligations, 2) access to cyber-security standards accepted by funders, and 3) better risk assessment for early preventive actions, by nonprofits. The Common Futures Conversations in Africa and Europe by Chatham House UK
Wonders Pibowei was a member of the Common Futures Conversations in Africa and Europe by Chatham House and Robert Bosch Stiftung from January 2022 to December 2023. The CFC is a community of young people from across Africa and Europe who join an international exchange with policymakers; and get a seat at the table in major policy discussions on key global challenges like climate change, elections or inequality. This included policy sessions with 1) Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, 2) H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, 3) H.E. Peter Gregory Obi, 4) Prof. Mamood Yakubu, 5) H.E. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, amongst others
Wonders Pibowei participated in and completed a training programme on Inclusive Cybercrime Policymaking by the Chatham House International Security Programme with funding of Global Affairs Canada, from 18th to 28th October 2021. He also participated in two regional consultations including: 1) Towards Inclusive Cybercrime Policy Making in America on 27 April 2022; and 2) Strengthening Inclusive Cybercrime Policymaking in Europe on 10 November 2021, as part of Chatham House project enabling active Civil Society in global cybercrime efforts.
