A Clinical Biochemist and Medical Research Scientist, Dr. Wesley Amaechi Dennis is a tenured Senior Lecturer and Acting HOD of Biochemistry, Paul Odili College of Medical Sciences at the Margaret Lawrence University Abuja. Prior to that, was a Lecturer in Department of Biochemistry, Departmental SIWES Coordinator, and the Research and Technology Coordinator at the Veritas University from 2017 to 2023. Holds a B.Sc degree in Biochemistry from the Lagos State University (2010), M.Sc in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Calabar Cross River State (2014), Ph.D in Clinical Biochemistry from the University of Calabar Cross River State (2018), and Advanced Teaching Certificate in Education from Veritas University Abuja (2018). Has completed professional trainings in Managing Successful Field Research and Reproducible Research Fundamentals by the World Bank Group, Clinical Trials ICH E8 and Good Clinical Practice ICH E6 by the Clinical Research Network USA, Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme by the Digital Bridge Institute, Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training by the Veritas University Abuja, Entrepreneurship by the University of Bocconi Milano, amongst others. He belongs to several professional bodies including the Clinical Research Network USA, Society of Toxicology USA and the Nigerian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
An Entreprenuer-in-Residence and Member of the Training Program Advisory Council at Lowase Management Consulting in 2023. Has successfully supervised projects of many university students, coached individual researchers on successful grant proposal writing, impacted many through his virtual mentoring programs, published over forty research articles, and gained a Peer Reviewer track record of over two hundred and ninety-five international journals on Publons. He is a Member of Scope Database International Advisory board, Editorial Board Member at American Journal of Biomedical and Life Sciences, Editorial Board Member at International Engineering Journal for Research and Development, Assistant Editor at International Journal of Applied Chemical and Biological Sciences, Prime Editor at Journal of Applied Health Sciences and Medicine, and Prime Editor at Journal of Biomedicine and Biosensors. Was awarded the 2021 Institution Based Research Grant with the Nigerian Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Vice Chancellor’s Prize on Successful Publication in International Journals, and many more. Has presented top conference papers globally, including the International Marmara Scientific Research and Innovation Congress in Instanbul Turkey, and ISPEC 10th International Conference on Agriculture Animal Sciences and Rural Development in Turkey, in 2022.
